Supporting Organisations

“At the end of the day, people with mental health issues want to contribute to society, and work is a good way of doing this. Work provides structure, routine, money, contact with other people, purpose - and that's no different for anyone else. So why should it be for the one in four people who experience mental health difficulties?

Partnership is vital.

It is so important that employers, health professionals and other organisations work together.”

Mandy Williamson Chief Executive MIND Exeter & East Devon

‘If only I knew you existed six months ago….’ A common cry by employers, employees and job applicants alike!

Whether a specialist mental health service, a generic disability agency or mainstream employment organisation, there is a lot of support ‘out there’. The difficulty can be getting to know about it. Many different organisations are available to employers and staff alike in terms of providing the right support at the right time. They play a key role in providing practical and financial support which can be very important in enabling people to stay in or find work. Supporting organisations will also find it important to work together, sharing their experience in ways which complement others. A list of organisations who have been involved in the initiative is shown on the About Us page.

MINDFUL EMPLOYER provides a conduit for those organisations to make themselves known to employers and others and for businesses to get to know about the wide range of support available. We welcome involvement of supporting organisations in running MINDFUL EMPLOYER Local Employer Networks - click on the link for more information and guidance about setting these up.

The name MINDFUL EMPLOYER® and the logo can only be used by supporting organisations who have signed the Partnership Agreement and by employers who are Charter signatories. There is no expectation on employers who have signed the Charter or expressed interest in MINDFUL EMPLOYER to offer work placements or other specific advantages.

If you would like to know more about how your organisation, group or employer network can work alongside and be supported by MINDFUL EMPLOYER then do please contact us.

"Both employees and employers need support when employee health issues create difficulties in the workplace. Our experience shows that time invested in delivering such support is time well spent."   Neil Morgan, Team Leader WTCS
