Goodbye Richard…
Richard Frost has led MINDFUL EMPLOYER since the start, alongside being an Employment Specialist here at Workways supporting local residents to find or remain in employment. Having worked in the field of employment and health since 1979 and appointed an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018 for services to mental health, Richard retires on 12 December. “It has been a tremendous privilege and a joy to work with my colleagues, clients, employers and many others at a local and national level over the years. Thank you for all your interest, support and enthusiasm for MINDFUL EMPLOYER and commitment to enabling people to lead a life of increased stability and hope. If you would like to stay in touch you can do so through my personal blog.”
… Hello Mark
We are delighted to welcome Mark Poole as the new Lead for MINDFUL EMPLOYER.
Mark writes: “After starting my career in mental health as a Support Worker for the charity Springfield Mind, I quickly worked my way up to the role of Wellbeing Coordinator where I was responsible for the day-to-day management of Springfield Mind’s various wellbeing services across Warwickshire. It was here that I began to develop my passion for the link between mental health and work. I eventually moved on from my role as Wellbeing Coordinator to join the NHS, where I worked and trained as a Low-Intensity CBT Therapist, assessing and treating patients experiencing common mental health conditions. Most recently, I have spent the last sixteen months working as a Mental Health Consultant for the Department for Work and Pensions – advising and up-skilling Jobcentre staff across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall to better support their customers who present with a mental health condition, while also working with managers around staff retention and wellbeing. I am very excited to have joined the Mindful Employer team where I can continue to support employers to cultivate mentally healthy workplaces, and very much look forward to leading the initiative into the future.”
Following the excellent strategy and development work carried out with the MINDFUL EMPLOYER Advisory Group and Devon Partnership NHS Trust we have been able to enable Mark’s post to be a dedicated Lead role which will enable the initiative to develop even further. He can be contacted at mark.poole2@nhs.net or 01392 677064.
