Time to Talk Day 

Thursday 1st February is the annual Time to Talk Day run by the Time to Change initiative. There are lots of resources on their website and do take a look at the MINDFUL EMPLOYER range of publications and our film, Let’s Talk, about having conversations at work. Order our publications before 24 January and we’ll get them delivered to you in time.



We are delighted to announce that MINDFUL EMPLOYER is being launched in Greece. Run by Action-Plus, a social cooperative society in Athens, they join our other international partners in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

‘Complete regard for my wellbeing’ 

Based in Stratford Upon Avon, an employee of Charter signatory Springfield Mind writes ‘Although Springfield Mind were aware of my mental health Issues prior to employing me, at the time of appointment my physical and mental health was in average condition. Unfortunately, after appointment, my physical health deteriorated dramatically requiring me to take two weeks off work. On this front, the organisation was exceptionally effective - keeping in touch with me and my family but in a supportive way. On my return to work, I was offered a gradual return allowing me to build up gradually to my previous hours. I had a comprehensive return to work interview which explored my mental wellbeing as well as physical. Unfortunately, during this period I encountered poor mental health, the organisation was keen to support me through this offering formal counselling, daily debriefing and offering me a 5 week life skills course relevant to my illness. This support went well beyond any tick box exercise and in return created a genuine loyalty and pride in Springfield Mind. I feel that as an employer and organisation they have complete regard for my wellbeing.’
