Health Work Wellbeing
Health Work Wellbeing is a Government-led initiative sponsored by 5 departments and headed up by Dame Prof Carol Black to improve the health and wellbeing of working age people.

The Healthy Workplace Initiative
Jointly sponsored by the Department of Health and the Health and Safety Executive, the Healthy Workplace Initiative encapsulates a new approach to the problems of health at work.

Jobcentre Plus
Free advice from Disability Employment Advisors and Work Psychologists, and funding through Access to Work for support for employees experiencing mental health issues. See the ’phone book for the number of your nearest office

Investors in People
IiP offer a wide range of information and resources for businesses including specifically about health and wellbeing at work.

National Social Inclusion Project 
The National Social Inclusion Programme has brought together the work of government departments and other organisations to challenge attitudes, enable people to fulfil their aspirations and improve opportunities and outcomes for people with mental health problems including in the area of employment.

SHIFT
Shift is a five year initiative (2004-2009) in England to tackle stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues. SHIFT is leading on the government's Action on Stigma initiative to promote mental health and end discrimination at work.

Employ ability
Employ ability is for managers and employers who want to know how they can use the talent and skills of disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. Practical information and support is available to help make employing and retaining disabled people as easy as possible.

Community Mental Health Teams are located across the UK and comprise Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and other specialist staff - listed under NHS in The ‘Phone Book or contactable through GP surgeries.

Run by disabled people who offer consultancy, training and advice to organizations who want to improve their performance on all disability issues Offering a range of services to look at disability discrimination legislation and government guidance, and improve employment, service delivery or other practices.

Employ-Mend
Employ-Mend offer consultancy and service provision for employers in relation to health management including their  Absencia programme.

Employment Assistance Programmes (EAPs)
Overseen by the UK Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA), EAPs are applicable to any size of business but are more commonly associated with large employers (250 employees and above). Options for small and medium size businesses (up to 250 employees) include private practice counsellors who specialise in the provision of workplace counselling listed in a directory produced by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and also contact the Association for Counselling at Work.

Straightforward psychological information and training that helps businesses create working environments which meet the innate needs of staff at all levels.

IAAPT
Provides support for employers in recognising when staff need help, helping employees deal with harmful levels of stress and other related training.
